Exercise is an important part of living well with Parkinson's. Physical therapy helps you stay active with a program focused on bigger, more confident movement.

Understanding It
Parkinson's disease can gradually affect movement — making steps smaller, movements slower, posture more stooped, and balance less reliable. Changes look different for every person and over time.
Physical therapy for Parkinson's emphasizes regular, purposeful exercise: larger amplitude movements, balance and walking practice, flexibility, and strength. The goal is to help you stay as active and independent as possible at every stage.
Symptoms & Challenges
Everyone's experience is different. These are common reasons people reach out — your evaluation focuses on what applies to you.
How PT May Help
Exercises that encourage larger steps and movements to counter the tendency toward smaller ones.
Practice with turns, direction changes, and reactive balance in a safe setting.
Mobility work for the spine, hips, and shoulders to support upright posture.
A sustainable routine you can continue at home and adjust with periodic check-ins.
Your evaluation looks at walking, turning, posture, flexibility, strength, balance, and the daily tasks affected by Parkinson's, so your program targets what matters most to you.
As a physical therapist-owned practice, every visit is one-on-one for 45–60 minutes. Your plan is built around your evaluation and goals, and adjusted as you progress. Results vary from person to person, and we will be honest with you about what to expect.
Your Appointment
If possible, schedule your visit at a time of day when your medications are working well, and bring a list of current medications. Family members are welcome.
We start by listening — your history, what has changed, and what you want to be able to do again.
Your physical therapist assesses strength, balance, walking, and movement, explaining what each test shows.
You leave with clear findings, an individualized plan of care, and a few safe exercises to begin at home.
